Non Profit Spotlight!

One of the prized non profit organizations that The Vendors Mall-WashingtonDC apparel line donates to is Higher Achievement of Washington DC. Founded in 1975 (both The Vendors Mall's founder and mother both actually attended the program), the academy's mission has been to close the opportunity gap that exists for youth starting in their middle school years. Specifically for underserved youth in disadvantaged areas, they don't get equal access to a quality education due to socioeconomic status. This is where the amazing Higher Achivement program has changed lives. By leveraging the power of communities in the city, for forty plus years the program has not only closed the opportunity gap by sending thousands of DC youth to high performing high schools then college, but also graduated 95% of those scholars on time from high school, 20% higher than the local average. They wasted no time. Adding to that, they also expanded their impactful reach to the Pittsburgh/Richmond/and Alexandria areas.

And quite frankly,they're consistently bettering the future generations in our world through it's educational impact to our youth. Shoutout to you Higher Achievement and thank you!
